Clean Your Messy Desk With Team One

Ranking Your Office Clutter on a Scale of 1-4

With our headquarters in Georgia, we know a thing or two about hurricanes. And like the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale, we like to rate the messes we see. When you’ve worked in tech repair as long as we have, some of the stuff that comes in isn’t too pretty. But that’s why we do what we do, upgrading and repairing your office tech before any equipment starts to look too sketchy. Here’s the little scale we’ve developed for rating office disasters. Don’t wait until you’re a category four to call.

Category 1: Collecting Dust
When we don’t set aside time for certain to-dos, they tend to fall to the wayside. For instance, maybe there’s that broken printer left in the storage closet because it’s too heavy to move to the trash. Don’t let these small projects collect dust. Simple repairs or tech support means you can stop hiding broken tech under a tarp and bring it back into the light. This is a minor category with a relatively minor fix.

Category 2: Computer Nightmares
Some computers are just the worst, and it has nothing to do with the actual technology. Picture this: you’re trying to collab with a coworker, sharing a computer, when the casual slip of the hand closes the internet tab, and you see them: PDFs. Thousands and thousands of PDFs littering every surface of the desktop. They bleed through the screen with their bright red signatures. There are so many PDFs on this laptop that you can’t see what the background is. You can picture them when you close your eyes.

Obviously, maintenance is half the work when it comes to a better computer. If you aren’t going to organize your desktop, you can at least get a bigger monitor. Then you’ll be able to remember what your background photo is.

Category 3: Karen, I Can’t See My Desk!
So you’re a little unorganized, huh? Perhaps your desk is in a corner and you’ve been able to carry on with your shenanigans for a bit too long. Either way, you know that pile of unread and unsorted work papers in the corner? It needs to stop.

Getting organized doesn’t have to be boring. It can even be fun with Matchstick labelers that come in all sorts of colors. Sort through and label your junk so it looks less like junk and more like an actual workspace. With the right organization tools, Team One can support you through any kind of clutter.

Category 4: Literal Garbage
There’s a lot of tech that can be repaired, and we love repairing it. However, the art of a true wreckage is something that has gathered literal garbage on the surface. For starters, pick up your keyboard. Turn it upside down. Shake. Pretty gross, right? Other types of garbage include:
Touch screens filled with fingerprints
Dust in the cracks of your printer
A computer mouse from the 90’s
An actual mouse inside the computer

And as you can imagine, we can fix all but that last one. You can update your keyboard and mouse, or just clean them with environmentally friendly products. Screen wipes, tech-friendly cleaner and canless air let you spray away the crumbs, suck em up, then wipe everything clean.

Your workspace shouldn’t have to need work. If you’re looking to better your workplace, ask us about our tech cleaning and maintaining services. We’ll keep the situation under a category 1.
